Carbide boring tool is carefully made of specially selected steels and carbides, to exact standards, for the best possible performance. The generous head size dissipates the heat generated at the point of cut, thereby increasing the life of the tool. Set screw flats are milled on the shanks of these tools for perfect position in the boring heads. This places the cutting edge of the tool on the exact centerline for optimum performance. When re-grinding these tools to sharpen, stock must be taken off on the ends and sides only. Never off the top face. Removing stock off the top face places the cutting edge below the centerline and will adversely affect tool performance.
